Lessons are tailored to suit individual needs, goals, and ability levels from early childhood through retirees! Kara's wholistic mentorship approach to teaching and learning encompasses the student as a whole, which means implementing learning techniques based on different brain types, personalities, and short/long term objectives~ all while teaching skills that spread into other areas of life such as time management strategies, discipline/focus, kind and down-to-earth self-assessment, assertive & effective communication skills, and integration of health practices (sleep, hydration, healthy foods, exercise, & mental wellness). All of these culminate towards delivering stellar performances, building self-confidence & compassion for others on similar journeys, and developing real-time patience in one's progress & growth in a realistic yet inspiring way.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach in this program.
Kara creates a fun and nurturing learning environment in which students feel safe playfully exploring creativity while gaining a strong foundation and advanced techniques in music & performance through the use of proven methods developed over 25 years of teaching!

Testimonials~
"Kara is an amazing person, musician and teacher. Kara began teaching my daughter cello over 10 years ago. In this time my daughter has excelled and found a love and passion for the cello. My son was inspired to play music from seeing these two play together and he was encouraged to learn the guitar, which he loves. I especially love that Kara teaches both new and classical music. Kara is a truly a wonderful teacher and I would highly recommend her."

Kara exudes joy and passion for both music and her students. The mentorship, collaboration and confidence gained from lessons with Kara have been transformative for my daughter."

"My family has been taking lessons from Kara for several years now. It started with my two daughters taking piano lessons and morphed into three of us engaging in a blend of guitar, vocal and piano training. In addition to being extremely talented herself, Kara is very knowledgeable in musical theory and makes it so easy to learn. I always tell her how thankful I am to have found her and anticipate working with her for many years to come."

"My daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Kara for several years. Kara is in tune with each of her students, understanding their personal goals and gently working alongside them with encouragement as they grow. Kara’s love and passion for the arts and teaching shine through with every lesson, recital, and interaction."

"After failing to learn the violin on my own I stopped playing and promised myself to try again after retiring. The only difference this time was to seek out a teacher. I answered an ad that Kara ran. She explained her background and encouraged me to view her web page. I was amazed that Kara played several instruments, was a member in a band and was an author and contributor for published recordings. At that time Kara had about 35 students. I was happy with all that I learned, but still needed one more piece of information. I called Kara and asked if she was ok with teaching older students. Kara gave me a few examples and I was convinced. My lessons started and I was quickly at ease. I progressed at a good pace. In addition to teaching Kara also organizes in-person and online recitals for the students. No wonder that she now has 60 students."

"Kara has been a priceless asset to our daughter's growth and knowledge in her musical journey. Her unprecedented approach towards each student is what inspired our daughter to go places with her music she never thought of before. Kara goes beyond just a teacher to our family she has become a mentor, coach, and friend."
